Banks Urban Renewal District Update Survey

The Banks Urban Renewal Agency, which is made up of the members of City Council and the Mayor, has been considering an amendment to the Banks Urban Renewal Plan to add property and add projects to the Urban Renewal Plan.

Urban Renewal does not increase your property taxes but is a redistribution of taxes you already pay.

The Agency budget is a separate budget than the City Council budget.

There is limited funding in the Agency in the next five years, but more funding is anticipated after that time.

The Agency funding comes from increases in assessed value within the urban renewal area, therefore the development of vacant and underutilized properties is key to gaining more funding.

The Agency members desire your input on the priority of the projects that are listed in the Urban Renewal Plan so they can do the appropriate planning over the next few years to prepare for future projects.
