Volunteers needed for the City of Banks Budget Committee

The City of Banks is accepting applications from persons interested in filling a position on the City of Banks Budget Committee.

The Budget Committee consists of 14 members (City Council, Mayor, and an equal number of appointed members from the community). The term for appointed members is 3 years beginning on January 1st of the year appointed, and running until December 31st of the final year of the term.

The Budget Committee meets 3-5 times in the spring (March-May), and may be convened at other times of the year as needed. The members of the Budget Committee shall receive no compensation for their services as members of the Budget Committee. Appointive members of the Budget Committee may not be officers, agents, or employees of the city. The Budget Committee is responsible for the review of the City’s annual budget. In reviewing the annual budget, the committee makes recommendations to the City Council on funding levels for City services.
