Washington County Transit Development Plan Open House and Survey available now until September 13

Washington County Land Use & Transportation is inviting community members to help shape the future of transit service by participating in an online open house and survey for the County’s Transit Development Plan (TDP).

The Transit Development Plan is Washington County’s strategic roadmap for improving transit service over the next two years. It identifies local priorities and guides investments that will create more reliable, accessible, and connected transit options.

Washington County supports public transportation priorities that:

·     Serve areas outside the TriMet and South Metro Area Regional Transit (SMART) districts

·     Connect rural communities to urban areas

·     Include community and job connector shuttles like GroveLink, North Hillsboro Link, Tualatin Shuttle, King City Link, Cornelius Link, Bethany Link westLink, and SPOT Southwest

·     Connect locations within the TriMet District where first/last mile gaps exist

·     Provide door-to-door services

"The Transit Development Plan is Washington County’s blueprint for transit over the next two years,” said Stephen Roberts, Director, Department of Land Use & Transportation. “Our goal is to make transit more reliable, accessible and connected for everyone. Your feedback will influence the adjustments and improvements we pursue.”

Community members taking part in the survey will be asked to review proposed service updates and share priorities for future improvements. Key topics open for input include:

·     New and expanded routes

·     Earlier, later, and more frequent service

·     Stronger regional connections, including TriMet, SMART, and local job shuttles

·     Improved pedestrian and ADA access, as well as enhanced transit stop amenities

Feedback gathered will shape service investment priorities and funding requests for Fiscal Years 2027–28 and 2028–29.

These projects are funded through the Statewide Transportation Improvement Fund (STIF), which supports improved and expanded public transportation services across Oregon. The Transit Development Plan is updated every two years, and public input guides the priorities set for each new cycle.

Community members can visit the online open house and survey anytime from August 19 to September 13.
