Mayor and Council Positions Election Information

 

Elections packets will be available at the City Hall on July 3, 2024, for positions that expire December 2024. The positions that are available are:

• Mayor Position - 2-year term - expiration will be December 2026.
• Council Position CC2, CC4, & CC6 - 4-year term - expiration will be December 2028. 

 

Requirements for City of Banks Mayor and City Councilor Candidates

• The candidate must reside inside the Banks City Limits.
• The candidate must have resided inside the Banks City Limits for 12 months immediately preceding an election.
• The candidate must be a registered voter in Banks, qualifying as an elector under state law.
• Please note that the Mayor and Council members are required to file a SEI (Statement of Economic Interest) form annually with the Oregon Government Ethics Commission

 

If you are interested in running for a Council position or Mayor, there are Candidacy Packets available at City Hall between the hours of 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The deadline for submitting the Candidacy Packet to the City Elections Officer is Wednesday, August 21^st, 2024, @1:00 PM at City Hall.
