Pearcia Bogroff

I was raised in the Bay Area of California, and moved to Vernonia, OR the end of my 7th grade year. I attended University of Oregon for a year before graduating with a BA in Health and Deaf Studies from Western Oregon University. I moved back to California for work and then graduated from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters in Educational Leadership. I moved up and down the west coast for work for about a decade and finally arrived in Banks 10 years ago to blend my family with a local Banks family. My husband and I have six kids between the two of us and all of them have attended BES, BMS, and BHS. We are heavily involved in sports and other community activities and own a business headquartered in Banks.

Although I’ve never held a role in government before, I’ve always been interested in politics and have participated in local government throughout my life. I decided to apply to fill a city council vacancy because of our political landscape. I’m tired of division and want to cultivate a culture of mutual respect and value.

I used to be a public speaker and enjoyed speaking to thousands on my main topic: Identity. My favorite thing to do is travel (I’ve been to over 20 countries) and if I get to scuba dive while I’m away, that’s a bonus! I love books and reading, I prefer savory over sweet snacks (popcorn is the best snack ever), and enjoy family board game nights.
