I was born and raised in Astoria, Oregon and graduated from Astoria High School. I have a B.S. in Marketing from the University of Oregon and an M.B.A. from the University of Portland. I spent over 40 years working in various capacities in the seafood industry and retired 3 years ago.
My wife Kathy and I moved to Banks in 1999 with our 3 boys. They all graduated from Banks and went on to earn degrees at their respective universities. Living here in Banks was always great for our boys and it has also been great for Kathy and I.
I was elected to the Banks City Council in 2003 and continued in that capacity until 2012 when I became Mayor. I was Mayor until 2020 when I was fortunate to become a City Councilor once again. Being a member of Banks city government has allowed me the opportunity to do the most important and fulfilling work in my lifetime. It has always been my goal for the City of Banks to be financially stable, a good place for the people of Banks to live, and have the ability to thrive in the future.
