Registration for the 2024 City of Banks Citizen Academy is now closed!
The Citizen Academy offers participants the opportunity to learn about the City’s programs and operations, meet City staff and elected officials and get to know fellow community members.
Have you ever wondered just how your local government works, or what the role of the Mayor and City Manager really is? Where does our water supply come from? What does the Planning Commission do? The City of Banks Citizen Academy will answer all those questions and more!
The Academy will prepare participants for city leadership positions as well as:
- Learn public meetings requirements
- Networking with city leaders and other participants
- Improve community engagement between city staff and public
- Learn about city staff responsibilities and services
The program is open to residents of the City of Banks, and if space permits, a limited number of spots are available to local business owners or employees who live outside of Banks and work within City limits. One spot can be reserved for a Banks High School senior.
There is no charge for the program, and water, coffee and snacks are included.
Academy size is limited to 10 participants.
