Police Service in Banks
The Washington County Sheriff's Office has assigned Deputy Tran and Deputy Wilson to the
City of Banks. Please call 911 for normal police emergencies and the non-emergency
number (503-629-0111) for all other police services. Your calls will be given to the
Deputy on duty at the time.

Sidewalk maintenance / Tree
Limbs
Is your sidewalk uneven or in need of repair? The Street
Department recommends that you make improvements as soon as possible. While the City
owns a right of way allowing for street expansions, utilities and pedestrian use, homeowners
maintain the sidewalks on their property and are responsible for "due
diligence" to insure the safety of pedestrians. See the
§ 90.10 Defective Sidewalks, Snow and
Ice. Also, tree limbs should be trimmed for at least eight feet of clearance for
pedestrians. This is addressed in
§ 90.07 Trees.
